STILL MORE FALGOUT PHOTOS!

The following photos are courtesy of Phil Swift. Phil was a proud crew member of the Falgout from February of 1964 to March of 1965. Phil was an EN3 snipe who spent many happy hours sweating and toiling away down in his beloved B1 engineroom, ha ha. Those wonderful enginerooms were heaps of fun to be in, weren't they? It felt like we were in the depths of Hell whenever we snipes stood engineroom watches out at sea, ha ha!

Many thanks to you, Phil, for providing these great photos for me and all of our fellow Falgout sailors to enjoy. Thanks also for helping to keep the memories of our great ship alive. Your kindness is very much appreciated. Fair winds and following seas to you always.

Phil getting some sun in Subic when he was part of the boat pool there. Subic was great duty! I was there for almost 4 months on my 1st ship. I loved every minute there. Roger Chastien holding up a shark that he helped to catch. I wonder if it made it onto the dinner menu that night, ha ha.

On patrol somewhere in the Pacific. A couple of Falgout fishermen with their catch.

A shot from the upper deck. Some Falgout boys enjoying the sun and ocean air.

Goofing around on the fantail during patrol.
Steaming with one of our sister ships, the USS Vance DER-387.

Does anyone know who these Falgout boys are? Tranferring some lucky guy on a bosun's chair between us and the Vance. I did that one time and it's scary!

A nice view looking forward. A good view of the Vance.

The captain, CMDR Breen, on the messdecks. Phil says he was one bad dude. Does anyone else remember him? Looks like some Falgout "deck apes" out on deck chipping paint or some other fun job, ha ha.

Tim "Swede" Larson was a good buddy of Phil's. Does anyone know where Tim is these days? Phil would like to make contact with him.
