A Falgout sailor has left us

I recently received the very sad news that one of our Falgout shipmates, Timothy "Swede" Larson EN2, has passed away. His loving wife, Sharen, informed me that he passed away on November 17, 2010 from prostate and bone cancer. Swede was a proud and loyal crew member of the Falgout from 1964 to 1965. He was a hard-working engineman in M Division. Now may you rest in peace forever, good shipmate.

Sharen would love hearing from any of his shipmates. She would especially like to find out from any of them if they knew for a fact that Swede had ever served in country in Vietnam. It would help her immensely if she could establish that he did. You may contact Sharen by e-mail:

Rest In Peace, Swede

Looking for shipmates of USS Jason sailor Adam Mohr

Adam Mohr MM1c was a proud and loyal crew member of the USS Jason (ARH-1) who served aboard her during the very early years of her long career. Adam was aboard from 1943-1945. He was an important part of the crew who repaired many battle-damaged US ships during the Jason's seven month deployment at Ulithi atoll in the Caroline Islands in the western Pacific Ocean. Much of this hard work was gallantly performed under the constant threat of Japanese kamikaze attacks. But these attacks never deterred Adam and the rest of the crew from performing their extremely important and vital duties.

Adam's daughter, Cheryl Mohr Manhire, would love to hear from any and all of his wartime friends and shipmates. So if any of you Jason sailors remember Adam, please contact Cheryl at her e-mail address below and share your memories of Adam with her. She would be very happy to hear from you.
